PROGRAM/CLASSES: Learn cuisine decorating skills, food and equipment safety training, and merchandising skills.

TIME COMMITMENT:  Apprenticeship program typically takes up to 6 months.

REQUIREMENTS:  High school diploma. 18 years old or older. Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Maritime Apprentice Program

NAME: Maritime Apprentice Program

WHAT: Learn the necessary training to work aboard U.S. Merchant Vessels.

WHERE:  Piney Point, MD 20674

PROGRAM/CLASSES: Vocational training to become an AB (Able Seaman), FOWT (Fireman, Oiler, Watertender) or Chief Cook; approximately 2+ years of training, many parts of this training program are spent out at sea. When all training sessions are completed, students are guaranteed a first-rated job aboard a ship.

TIME COMMITMENT:  2 + years

COST: Free Tuition, room & board!

REQUIREMENTS:  18 yrs old and older. No experience necessary. All applicants will have to successfully pass an SIU Physical and Drug test. You will also need a valid U.S. Passport.
