NAME: ATDM’s Submarine Manufacturing Apprenticeship

WHAT: Learn welding, machining & manufacturing skills necessary to repair, upfit, and build submarines.

WHERE:  Training program located in Danville, Virginia.

PROGRAM/CLASSES: Classes/certifications in Additive Manufacturing, CNC Machining, Non-destructive Testing (NDT), Quality Control Inspection/Metrology and Welding.

TIME COMMITMENT:  Apprenticeship program typically takes 4 months.

COST:  Currently, tuition, housing and transportation are provided for students. Participants are responsible for food, medical care, and other expenses during their four months in the program.

REQUIREMENTS:  High school diploma. 18 years old or older. U.S. Citizen. Pass a drug test. Email & internet access. Be willing to relocate for the training.

NOTE: The ATDM staff will offer job placement assistance with companies in the defense manufacturing community following completion of the training. During the duration of coursework, the staff will assist with recommendations on potential DIB/SIB employers, which companies are hiring in a specific skill area, and where those facilities are located. They will also assist with resume and interview preparation, and sponsor industry visits to the school’s facilities.

Elevator Industry Apprenticeship

Interested in an earn to learn apprenticeship using complex machinery with great benefits? What to earn an average salary of over $80,000 a year? Want a reliable career that requires little to no experience? Learn to install or assemble elevators, moving walkways, dumbwaiters, and escalators through this amazing apprenticeship. Got a diploma? You’ve got options!

NAME: National Elevator Industry Education Program (Apprenticeship)

WHAT: Learn about generators and motors, essential tools, aerial lift, hydrolics, maintenance and more.

WHERE:  Programs located in almost every state in the country, including Philadelphia, PA.

PROGRAM/CLASSES: Training begins with 6 months online training program. After completion of this program, there is a combination of classroom and on-the-job training.

TIME COMMITMENT:  Apprenticeship program typically takes 4 to 5 years.

COST:  Free, paid training provided as part of employment. Most apprentices make 40% or more of an average elevator technician’s salary.

REQUIREMENTS:  High school diploma. 18 years old or older. Must pass elevator aptitude test (tests candidates on basic arithmetic, reading comprehension, mechanical comprehension, and general tool knowledge).

PPPL’s Network/Telecommunications Apprenticeship

Want to be part of a quality training program while receiving paid, on the job training? PPPL’s Network/Telecommunications Apprenticeship may be for you! Got a diploma? You’ve got options!

NAME: PPPL’s Network/Telecommunications Apprenticeship

WHAT: Learn how to install network/telecommunications systems.

WHERE:  Princeton, NJ

PROGRAM/CLASSES: 6000 hours of instruction, including how to install copper wiring & fiber optics, how to install telecommunications systems, fundamentals of computer networks, how to troubleshoot network connectivity issues, how to troubleshoot communications issues and more!

TIME COMMITMENT:  4 years

COST: Free!

REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma, motivated, ready to learn and be challenged, ability to lift 50 lbs.
